Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Plant Amigois built to respect your privacy. We don’t track you, we don’t use third-party analytics or advertising, and your plant data lives in your own iCloud account - not on our servers.

The short version

Information we process

Plant Amigo only sends data off your device when you actively use an AI feature:

Photos you submit

When you use AI photo identification or attach a photo in Ask AI, that image is sent to our AI provider to generate a result. Photos are used only to provide the feature, are not linked to your identity, and are never used for tracking.

Text you write to Ask AI

When you ask the AI a question, the text of your question - and relevant plant notes used as context - is sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. This content is used only to provide the feature, is not linked to your identity, and is not used for tracking.

AI requests are routed through a secure proxy and authenticated using Apple’s App Attest so the service can only be used by the genuine app. Our AI provider processes requests to return a response and does not use your content to identify you.

Data stored on your device and iCloud

Your plants, care schedules, care history, journal entries, cover photos, and app preferences are stored locally and, when iCloud is available, synced through Apple’s CloudKit to your private iCloud account. This data is owned by you; we cannot access it. If iCloud is unavailable, Plant Amigo continues to work with local-only storage.

Device permissions

We also use Apple’s standard preferences storage (UserDefaults) to remember your own settings within the app.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. Plant Amigo does not receive or store your payment information.

Children’s privacy

Plant Amigo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, if appropriate, notify you within the app.
